This ancient hamlet dates back to the sixteenth century but the original core appears to have originated halfway through the fourteenth century when it belonged to the Order of St. Stephen. It could have been defined as a resting area and landmark for religious travelers and pilgrims heading towards Chiusi, Castiglion del Lago, and Arezzo.
